How come there are almost no cities of ancient Mesopotamian civilisations left, while many cities of Ancient Rome are not only around, but also still alive and of great importance? (E.g. Rome)

Can anybody help me find information on my grandfather? He was a US Army Ranger (1st BN, C Company) during WWII. He was a POW at Stalag 2B and he may have given the last radio address of the 1st Ranger BN at the battle of Cisterna di Latina before being captured.

Why don't Spain and Mexico (or any other 2 countries where one colonized the other, only for the colony to become independent) have similar relations to what the U.S. and Britain have? Or do they?

Today older generations call millennials lazy and far too concerned with social media. What types of things were said about other generations during technological leaps forward (such as not having to grow your own food)?

how often would characters in the old testament make reference to their predecessors, and do we believe that the "historical" figures knew of these stories? (e.g. would King David have heard of Abraham and Moses?)
